Do you or a loved one need therapy?

Perhaps you've heard a lot of people say, "I don't need therapy. That's for people with real problems."

Many people fear that if they reach out to a therapist that they will be labeled as a person with a mental disorder or more seriously, diagnosed with something drastic and life altering.  I am here to tell you that this is not necessarily true with therapy.  In fact, many individuals may feel that after a couple of months of therapy that they reached a place where they do not require weekly therapy, and are on their way to a happier self.

"Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional" is a quote I share with individuals trying to seek therapy.  I ask the individual to reflect and consider whether they feel sad on more days than they feel happy.  If days of sadness are more prevalent than happy days then it would be important for the individual to understand why.

My goal as a therapist is to work with you and discover ways for you to live a more fulfilling and happier life!

If you are still uncertain, there is self-test by Psychology Today that you may find helpful.  It is a Mental Health Assessment test and is comprised of 16 questions. Click here to take the test, and please feel free to discuss your results with me.
